Name: Anonymous on Mar 5, 2013Comments: I went through the steps advised by FSCJ. Filed the appeal and met with a counselor for guidance (set up goals for each semester.) Now, I have to pay grant money back. This is not fair. If I wasn't eligible they should have said so, then.Flag

Name: Tracy Shingle on Mar 5, 2013Comments: I think the situation should fall on the school not on the students. I can no longer attend FSCJ because of my SAP which was low at the time I enrolled and was still given money to attend knowing I would not be able to continue with my education. Please keep me informed on this!!!!Flag

Name: Liam A Blake on Mar 5, 2013Comments: The former FSCJ President said that the college would take responsibility for this issue and absorb the cost. The new president did not keep the old president's promises. Instead he is citing a non-existing state law statute to scare students into complying when they have no legal reason to comply.Flag

Shame on you FSCJ.Flag

Name: Katherine Scully on Mar 5, 2013Comments: This happened to me and the college is demanding money in 30 days. I'm not able to sign up for any future classes until I agree to a repayment plan or pay $1,450 in full. When I called campus they told me when they were audited they were told to get their money back because they gave away too much. If they didn't have the money to give away, why did they?Flag

Name: Amy Deyton on Mar 5, 2013Comments: I received a letter stating I owed FSCJ over $6900.00 because they had made a mistake in approving my appeal. Why I am being held responsible for their mistake? I am single parent that recently completed my Associate's Degree with FSCJ, now I am not going to be able to continue to pursue my Bachelor's. I am trying to support my daughter by myself! I don't have $6900.00!! This is ridiculous and I don't think students should be held responsible for this institutions mistake.Flag

Name: Edward Lampert on Mar 5, 2013Comments: The old FSCJ pres said the school would absorb the cost of this mistake. The new pres didn't honor that. They are saying the law is making them do this to students. This is a flat out lie!!! They have neglected to cite the statute they are referring to. Crooks!Flag

Name: Rachael Miller on Mar 5, 2013Comments: I am effected by this mistake on behalf of FSCJ and have been billed for 6,938.00$. I have signed the petition and will actively participate in any way possible to hold FSCJ accountable for there actions. I am a second term nursing student with a consistent 3.0 GPA. They are threatening to hold my transcripts and prevent me from registering for my next term. I am set to graduate in December. I am at a loss. I do not know what to do at this point. Do I enter the repayment program to ensure my graduation or do I hold out? Rachael Miller 904 316 1137Flag

Name: Jennise Harrell on Mar 5, 2013Comments: I absolutely feel it is the responsibility of the college to pay NOT THE STUDENTS. I owe over 10K of overpayment grant money. I do not feel I did anything wrong. I followed the instructions by the advisor, whom instructed me to write what was needed and provide "supportive" documentation for the appeals that were approved from 2010-2012. I cannot afford this debt and should not pay it back because of the FSCJ irresponsibilities.Flag

Name: Velvet Whitaker on Mar 5, 2013Comments: This is an unfair practice by FSCJ. When I appealed the original rejection for the Pell Grant, I was told that everything was good to go. Now with two degrees and one class away from the third degree from this school, I still can't get a job. Go figure.Flag
