Comments: It is crazy for FSCJ to try and recoup the money they mishandled from their students.

Comments: This mistake has forced out many students who want a college education. They now have to pay it back before they can take another class.. sad...

Comments: As a health professional, I am barred by state law from refusing to give a patient their medical records, even if they owe me money. The fact that the school is refusing to give transcripts or allow otherwise qualified individuals to graduate unless they repay this money turns my stomach.

Comments: I am having the same problem with them now!! They are trying to have my repay 3355.00 from an appeal that I had turned in May of 2012. I would love to help and join forces (if possible), It's not fair for a college to grant FA and then take it away with a snap of a finger!! It's not right, and we shouldn't be punished for them NOT doing their jobs correctly.

Comments: I would like to say that I too am a victim of these same circumstances. I know that we (students) have an obligation on our end to hold up, but the school has an obligation on their end to hold up as well. How is it that we are to pay back something that the school approved for us? How are we to know that we aren't supposedly eligible for something that we are approved for? I have many more questions that need to be answered being that I am four (4) classes away from my degree and this road block is put up all on account of the school dropping the ball on their end and are now trying to hold the students accountable for their mistakes, which is totally wrong.

Comments: They seem to be coming after me too and I was a full-time straight-A student with financial need! I have since graduated. I had to put in an appeal for the semester concerned because my program of study was not approved, but it was only because the system had overridden my real program of study (BAS IT Management). After jumping through a lot of hoops to get it fixed, my POS and my appeal were appropriately approved. It seems as if they are just going back and reversing all approved appeals, regardless of whether they were legit or not. It's like they dangled a carrot in front of me to get me in the program, and then after I do your time and get my degree, they want to come back and take the carrot away. In my case, that carrot was the whole reason for my pursuing the BAS at FSCj, so if the carrot was not there, I would have not proceeded with classes there. So, at least in my case, in the absense of the Pell Grant, I still owe FSCJ nothing....and they will get nothing from me!

Comments: I am an FSCJ student who is currently enrolled full time and "supposed to" graduate this semester, with just two classes left for Summer. I will be fighting for my own "financial hold" of which I have not even received a letter about yet. I am in no way able to pay this back. I am passing this around to facebook as well as an email stream and I will be contacting you Mr. Durden. Thank you for taking a stand. I fear the worst but I am going to fight this full force.
