Name: Valencia Cain on Mar 7, 2013Comments: I am also affected by the college financial aid also and i tried to go talk to some and was told i could not talk to anyone and the funds they have taken back is incorrect because the classes they are talking about is on my degree audit. They stated they would get back to me and as of yet that have not happenedFlag

Name: Sheryl Gaines on Mar 8, 2013Comments: I had to withdraw a whole semester back in 2005 bc of a family emergency. Back in 2009 when I decided to go back to school, I filed for the appeal and have them every bit of information they asked for. My appeal got approved and I went to school full time until fall of 2010 when my family and I moved to another state. Here, 3 years later, I recieve a $3,000 bill because my appeal was "improperly approved". Bullshit. I am not paying for a mistake fscj made. They approved my appeal, I went to school, and now 3 years later you take it back? I don't think so!Flag

Comments: This is ridiculous that students are trying to get an education and have a future and because this school messed up the we are the ones who have to pay for it? We aren't the ones who made the mistake, the school is, so they should pay for THEIR mistake. They should take responsibility for it as well and not put it on the students.Flag -

Name: Bermice Starkes on Mar 9, 2013Comments: I was a student at fscj that was approved for Financial Aid and now after fscj audit I now owe them money that I don’t have, it’s sad that people are attending school to better themselves and doing or did everything fscj required us to do step by step because of their failure to do their job, now a lot of people have a debt with this school. People that cannot afford to pay for college tuition apply for financial aid so what makes fscj think that we have this money to pay them back. I understand that fscj just don’t care that their failure to do their job has an effect on all of us I strongly agree that fscj should be held accountable for their error, carelessness and failures.Flag

Name: Summer Page on Mar 10, 2013Comments: I have to withdraw from college now due to this mess. I was told by the "outside collection firm" that I must pay 12 months on the debt before I can register for classes again. Therefore, I must take a year off college, which triggers my student loan payoff, and pay on this debt that I did not sign up to incur, before I can have the credits that FSCJ is holding hostage. I no longer see the point in trying to get a degree.Flag

Name: Gary Griffin on Mar 11, 2013Comments: The school cannot just obligate people to payback funds that were told to be free money to go to shcool on. This is not fair and should be illegal. Furthermore, I made the presidents list and the deans list on multiple occasions therefore, why did I ever need an SAP appeal to begin with!!! Totally unfair and neglegent on the organizations behalf!Flag

Name: Robert Nodine on Mar 11, 2013Comments: FSCJ put me through the ringer with the appeal causing me to miss work several times to obtain the documents the insisted they needed. I provided no false documents nor did I forge or lie on any part of the appeal process. I am a single father of a special needs child who works full time and is trying to finish his degree. And now I'm being held accountable for the school's misconduct. This is absolutely unacceptableFlag

Name: Cameron A. Smiley on Mar 11, 2013Comments: I am a FSCJ student. I only have a couple more courses to finish before attaining my Associates degree. And I really don't think it is right for them to make us pay back ALL of the money that they said we were qualified in the first place and then turn around say we need to pay it all back. I used that grant money exactly as they told me to, and earned those credits that I have fought so hard to achieve ever since I came back to college. I don't feel obligated to paying back a cent for what they told me at the beginning that I was qualified for.Flag
