Summer Residents of the Hulbert Estate:

As you will note from the email exchange below, management has denied me the resident position of House Librarian. As I'm sure many of you are aware, unemployment in America is at 7.6% and many employers choose to offer internships, rather than employ hard working individuals because they are assholes. I think that is the official term. This petition will be handed over to management, whom I implore to reconsider a decision made by one man, and live by the democratic values of this great nation the Hulbert House resides in. If you feel the collection the house has so far acquired due to my diligent yard sale pickings, I hope I can garner your support in this endeavor.

(footnote: In regards to the complaint about noise in the vicinity of the library, I would like to acknowledge that this librarian believes learning comes in many forms, and one would do well to remember the brilliant minds who have come to the written word through a bottle of whiskey)

Further to the earlier email from L. Wreath please find below some reasoning behind our decision.

It was noted by management that the applicant was unable to keep the library area quiet during opening hours. This is clearly further illustrated by Master Clegg feeling able to speak up around the collection when a silent policy should be enforced. It was was also bought to our attention by certain members of the household that the library area was at times reduced to "a den of iniquity and a platform for raucous revelry." The fact that the applicant not only turned a blind eye to this lewd behavior but also took part in it did not go unnoticed. 

Should the applicant want to suggest any extra curricular activities if and when they are accepted for the internship, we ask that this be submitted in writing to the address below.

We will let you know when a decision for the internship/librarian assistant position has been reached.

The applicant would like to know what criteria management feels that the applicant did not meet. The applicant would also be happy to supply references, being that many members of the household felt the library was an oasis of knowledge in a house that was otherwise barren. Lastly, the applicant would like to quote a one, Master Clegg, who upon reviewing inventory, made known his appreciation of the selection while management was well within earshot. The applicant would advise management to review and reconsider it's decision.
