   Comments: What every happened to playing with your friends at school! Recess is slowly fading away and we need to protect this time for our kids. As for PE, we need to give HISD students the PE that the law requires. Healthy and happy kids... there is nothing wrong with that goal. And all of this physical activity will make them more successful academically too:)

    Comments: Since we live in an age where as a culture we have become more sedentary for a variety of reasons--busy schedules, safety/security, abundance of digitized entertainment, availability of convenient "play" spaces, having daily mandatory recess and/or PE is imperative at school--an environment that is secure, has adequate and specifically designed areas for physical activity, empowers creative active play, and which provides for the balanced development of mind, soul and body.
