Dear President Obama/Vice President Biden/Secretary/Senator/Representative

We are very happy with your leading our nation to recovery and creating jobs.

Would you be kind enough to help us REGAIN OUR JOBS and

PREVENT MEDICARE FUNDING WASTAGE, PLEASE?

We are Resident Physicians who were dismissed from Residency Training Programs.

Physician Licensure and Board Certification steps:

 A.  Complete medical school in US or another country.
 B.  Pass United States Medical Licensing Examinations Steps 1, 2, 3.

 C.  Complete Training in programs called 'Residency Training Program'.

Training varies from 3 to 7 years based on specialty - Pathology, Surgery etc.
     Training funded by Medicare.
Trainees called Resident Physicians/Residents. Programs are headed by Directors.

Every year 200 of us Resident Physicians are dismissed from Residency Training Programs prior to completion of the required number of years of training, despite most of us having taken excellent care of patients during the training. Please permit us to be very blunt. We are not implying anything in our next sentence. Our weakness was that prior to our entering that program, we had not read Robert Hochheiser’s book, ‘How to Work for a Jerk’. This may sound humorous but it is the truth and a serious matter.

Those of us who are dismissed from one Residency Training Program are not accepted in any other Residency Training Program because of bad mouthing by the Program Director of the program from which we were dismissed. Thus we are unable to have the required number of years of training and be Licensed and Board Certified.

Also, thousands of foreign physicians are sponsored for non-immigrant J1 Exchange Visitor and H1 Priority Worker visas, by Program Directors claiming that qualified candidates are not available in the US, despite there being well qualified US Citizens.

We will be very grateful to you if you could kindly help us be accepted in a Residency Training Program again and complete the credentialing process and get Licensed and Board Certified.

Thank You and Best Wishes
