Name: Cindy Kudelka on Mar 25, 2003State: ILComments: Real Hip Hop needs to be more widely promoted in order to cease the violence we see in our everyday lives, especially amoungst youth. They are the seeds to our future and if we keep feeding them all this negativity and show them that it's okay to act with violence and act "hard core", where will this world end up in years to comeFlag

These days the music industry is crowded with non-talented wack-as-ever artists. My fellow Hip-Hop Heads, we need to come and stick together for one day we will gain victory. Peace.Flag

Name: Craig Boersma on Mar 25, 2003State: ORComments: I personally have not purchased even a SINGLE mainstream album for many years now. However, in the last TWO years alone I have spent nearly $1,500 on "underground" hiphop albums, primarily because that is the only place I find "conscious" lyrics. By this, I mean that the "conscious rappers" provide me with intelligent lyrics that deal with relevant issues in a positive and uplifting way rather than bragging about money, fame and power, and exploiting murder, drugs and mysogeny, as seems to be so popular in the mainstream. If any major record companies want some of the thousands of dollars I will no doubt spend on music in the next few years, they had better start signing conscious rappers and SOON. I have nearly lost all faith in the major music industry, which is a shame because it has so much potential to do good things instead of poisoning the minds of youth as it does so gladly today.Flag
