I think the steps suggested in the video part 2 are excellent and we should follow on that. The matter should be brought to an official investigation and justice be rendered. The injuries sustained by Hind are horrifying and brutal. I am a Calgarian and am very displeased at this state of event.

139 Tasneem IrhoumaI am a grade six student and I sent this letter to: Dear Chief of Police, My name is Tasneem Irhouma. I am a Grade (6) student. I am writing according to Hind Hamouda’s case. I watched the tape of her and it was a nightmare for me. I cannot forget that horrifying scene of her face and blood everywhere. She got beaten up so badly in front of her elderly mother, that even someone who abuses kids/people and would murder people wouldn’t get hurt at all. Please think of a way to prevent this in the future. Hind Hamouda got her religious and human rights violated, and never got any respect for her mental illness. In Social Studies, we are learning about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and this definitely isn’t one of them. Even if she was not mentally challenged, she still doesn’t deserve to get beaten up like that. In my point of view, if I ever needed help of the police, should I be scared they would beat me up? Pull off my scarf, which Muslims consider it as an important part of their life and dignity? Beat up my mom and dad? As citizens, we have all the right to live in peace, dignity and respect, even if we are mentally challenged.
