The local news outlets finally agreed to cover the All-State Concert with the same level of depth they give our sports teams. My daughter and her fellow musicians deserve this recognition for their months of hard work. I am so grateful to everyone who helped push this forward.

Seeing this level of support for our young musicians feels like a validation of all the hours they spend practicing in basement practice rooms. When I look at my own children preparing for their auditions, I know this recognition is exactly what they deserve. We have captured the attention of people who understand that music is just as vital as any sport.

Been asking for this for years. Symphony Hall is a huge deal but nobody hears about it unless their kid is playing.

Totally agree. Sports are great but music builds so much discipline and focus. Give them some credit.
MUSIC MATTERS TOO! These kids work just as hard. Stop ignoring the arts.
They deserve a spotlight just as much as the basketball team. It feels like music programs are always an afterthought.

My son puts in hours of practice every single day just like an athlete. Why does the local news only care about football scores?
