I believe rural areas should have access to higher internet speeds (download and upload). We who live in such areas are humans too and love using the internet for web surfing, streaming, gaming, etc. Specifically in my case, I've been using software designed to create 3D environments, characters, simulations, visual effects with extensions like 3D sculpting and texturing tools. I'm a teen looking to adventure off into something I'm interested in but there's something in my way: INTERNET SPEEDS. Unable to maintain a stable connection to my software ( and many other things) is something I'm having trouble with therefore making things (specifically the software I mentioned) incredibly difficult to use. I believe there are many others like me in rural areas trying to move into the direction of jobs or having just plain fun, via internet, but cannot because there are little to none internet speeds that are high/stable enough for the things we need to access. Faster internet in rural areas can open so many doors for people who want to work online. This is 2016 with available speeds up to 1GB, or even higher! There shouldn't be a single person struggling to open a web-browser. Basic day to day objects, posters, designs, etc, that we look at begin online. There could be so many underrated designers/creators literally living in rural areas that have so much potential to become successful via work online, but the only thing stopping them is their internet. Comedians can create and upload genius and hilarious videos, skits, etc, from their bedrooms and become a sensation overnight, but not in rural areas. A girl can upload a video of herself simply dancing to a song in her basement, a month later realizing she can make a living off of doing so because of the overwhelming support of her fans, but don't expect that if you live in a rural area. To end off my petition, a little boy by the name of, Justin Bieber, had a video uploaded to the internet of himself singing. Because of that, he became one of the biggest pop-stars of all time. If he had lived in a RURAL AREA, that would not have happened. Higher, faster internet speeds in these kinds of areas will benefit everyone.
