2/17/12: As Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band continue to rehearse for their upcoming world tour, they are likely to be sorting through the 32 songs featured on the last two albums released since their last tour. And with the addition of a new horn section, they are probably also refreshing a host of earlier songs from their repertoire. While thinking about these rehearsals on the drive home from work this evening, "Talk to Me" came on E Street Radio. And then it hit me: "Holy sh*t! That song would be freaking awesome with the horn section on the next tour." Of course it would. But what if this fact wasn't even on Bruce's radar? What if the new guys in the horn section were afraid to speak up to The Boss during rehearsals and say something? What if they didn't even know about this song? What if they were thinking of playing the freaking Mexican Hat Dance or some other silly song to showcase the horn section? What if "Chicchio and Chicchio" (the two Italian dudes that follow them to every show) fail to request "Talk to Me" on one of their signs? What a tragedy that would be. Something had to be done. Which is why I'm grabbing this by the horns (pun intended) and doing something about it. On behalf of E Street Nation, this petition requests that its Boss - Mr Springsteen - pencil...no SHARPIE "Talk to Me" into the setlist for the upcoming tour. And while I'm writing, this petition also requests that he dedicate it to me - @mlancia - when he plays in Cleveland on April 17. That happens to be my birthday and that would be equally freaking awesome. - Mark Lancia
