We the undersigned ask the Clark Township Trustees to vote against adopting and approving the Downtown Development Authority in Hessel/Cedarville. During these economic challenging times we need to make the most of our resources. We feel the DDA will only add extra costs to an already over burdened community. If Clark Township wishes to apply for government grants they can do so without forming a DDA. There are many more residential properties within the boundries than businesses. We don't feel that the residents should be burdened with paying for things that will only benefit the few local businesses that exist. We already support them by being customers. If the community wants to improve the appearance of the community (planting trees and doing landscaping) these things can be accomplished with donations and fundraisers.
