The petition

we do not wish to support professional athletes who have been convicted of breaking laws other than misdemeanors...we disagree with the argument that such athletes deserve a second chance in professional leagues, as we view said leagues as private, influential fantasy worlds that should only be stocked with positive role-models...athletes who are convicted of crimes greater than a misdemeanor should, upon their release, take their second chance at freedom among the common citizenry

(on 01/02/09 a copy of this petition will be sent to the commissioner of each the nfl, nba, mlb, mls, and nhl)
