Name: Anonymous on Dec 20, 2012Comments: According to Tesco this will be an asset, and draw more people to the area to shop. There will be no extra parking near, so where will this new trade come from? It can only damage local trade. If the council back such things as the Sunday Market in Railton Road it would appear to promote small buisness, so come on Lambeth stop this unwanted develpment. If it goes through I promise NEVER to use this supermarket.Flag

Name: Andrew Child on Dec 22, 2012Comments: Don't let Herne Hill become another Tesco town! Where was the consultation, Tesco? Herne Hill prides itself on well-supported independent shops. Tesco need to follow the example of Costa in Totnes and bow out gracefully. It will only further damage your brand Tesco. Think of your shareholders if nothing else! @savegeorgeiv stand in solidarity with you.Flag

Name: Marlowe Russell on Dec 23, 2012Comments: I use the shopping in Herne Hill - great greengrocer, lovery bakers, proper hardware shop, decent butchers + others not to mention the Sunday market precisely becaue they are independent, friendly traders and ther area is relatively super-market free. I am able to vitually ignore the Sainsbury nearby. Herne Hill shopping is a rare and valuable amenity which would suffer great detriment with the arrival of another supermarket.Flag
