Name: Ian Tasker on May 17, 2007Comments: This has to be a classic case of corporate greed taking prcedence over the production of newspapers that meet the needs of their respective readerships interms of quality and content. Significant cuts can only have an impact on quality and quantity of genuine Scottish coverage penned by staff journalists. Of greater concern is the dramatic effect that these cuts have on those who lose their livliehoods and those who remain. Continually downsizing these titles can only lead to an increase in the physical and psychological wellbeing of their workers. There will be little chance of the enforcement action against the company and the directors get away scot free as there is no individual duties placed on them to protect their workforce.Flag

Name: Diane Anderson on May 17, 2007Comments: As a regular reader of all three newspapers, I would be very unhappy to think that there was any threat to the integrity and independence of their content. Please ensure that staffing levels are maintained and enable the papers to continue their leading role of keeping Scottish and Glasgow people well informed. Thank you.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 17, 2007Comments: Newsquest's continual cost-cutting and lack of investment generally, and particularly in editorial, are threatening the future of a once-proud Scottish institution. The Herald is not a provincial newspaper. It is a quality national whose continued health is vital in a maturing democracy.Flag
