The petition

We believe we, the United States of America, should help the women in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are being raped by the Congolese army, the people who are supposed to be protecting the ones they are hurting. These women need our help. We realize that troops are short right now, and can not help the civil war. However, what we can do is help the current innocent victims. There is only one surgeon who can work on these women, and only a few beds. Every one else must wait in an open pavilion for months to just get a bed. We want the government to do something about this by giving medical aid, food, and shelter for these women. Some of you may be thinking, "why help these women? It's not our problem." The Democratic Republic of Congo holds significant deposits of coltan, a rare chemical used in the cell phones and computers we use on a day to day basis. So, we could use that to America's advantage.
