Comments: The elderly have great worth in God's eyes. Why is the government treating them like they have no value They deserve to have medical help just like anyone else. Not everyone has the financial security that government officials have. Would you want to be treated this way--not be able to get the medications you need and have a place to go when you can't care for yourself anymore Think about it! Linda

Comments: It Is so very Important for us to keep our nursing facilities open If you cut the cost of Medicare to the nursing facilities what will happened to our elderly that really need to be there I will tell you a short story about my Grandfather that I said would never go Into a nursing home. Well I ended up putting him there because It was absolutley Impossible for me to take care of him anymore It was one of the hardest things for me to do but today I thank God that I could do that. He received more care and love from the nursing staff than I ever thought possible. When I put him there they gave him about a month tops to live well I have to tell you he ended up living 18 months with a very good quality of life. Please don't only think of the elderly think of the young adults and even children that need the special care that a nursing facilitie can give. Someday you may need to be put In one, Trust me I always said never until the day It was phsically Impaossible for me to take care of Grandpa anymore. Sincerely, Malissa Pratt

Comments: There seems to be more and more cuts on everything. Why can't they leave medical reimbursements alone. Many people can't afford the care they need if the cuts continue.

Comments: I have worked in the medical field for many years and have worked at many Nursing Homes. Without the medicare caring for these people, u will start seeing a new type of people, Homeless Nrusing Home People. Do you really want to see that happen to your Mom or Dad Please reconsider.

Comments: i dont think its fair to cut these benefits, our elderly community have worked so hard for the little they have, i have worked in a nursing home for 10 yesr and know the cost of living..some barely survive and have to depend on family for the difference of what medicaid dont cover,,ITS JUST NOT FAIR!!!

Comments: When I first went on ss you figured I was only eligable for $400 per month...Then the supplement medical Ins cost out of pocket $100/mo...Your first round of cuts Increased my supplement ins cost to $200/mo... Leaving me with a grand net total of $200 per month to live on and support my wife etc... I am so far below the poverty level now I just would challenge any of you to walk in my shoes for a year...

Comments: I am a medical patient with a condition known as RSD.. I have been awaiting SSD for years now and you are not willing it seems to acknowledge that this condition is totally disabling.. my husband is retired on SS and you feel he is only edledgable for $400/mo with the current supplement insurance for him costing $200/mo we attempt to live on the remaining $200... your proposed reductions would definately leave us much less -- Any one brave enough to try to live as you have set our life now.. How can you begin to justify putting anyone on SS under the poverty level to begin with...

Comments: Long term care facilities have been closing across the state due to cuts in reimbursement. Further cuts will only hurt the long term care industry more. Our residents desire the best quality care, but this can not be done without adequate funding. Thank you Marianne Clark RN BSN
