The government finally committed to creating the specialized youth stabilization centers we fought for so long to secure. I am drained from this process but knowing these teens will finally have actual support makes the exhaustion worthwhile. We have to keep watching to ensure they truly follow through on these …

Why do I want you to sign this petition Did you know that 1 in 5 students have a mental health issue Many of them deny they have a mental health concern, because they feel it makes them inferior to others. If they deny it, then most likely they are refusing to take their medications prescribed for their specific diagnosis. This can cause chaos for them and their family, and for society who has to deal with their behavior caused by their mental illness. My goal is for the government to make a change in the health system so that there are services where these teens can be admitted, and stabilized with counseling and medication. If no change happens, many teens will grow up with drugs, crime, and even suicide because this is how they deal with their mental illness if they don't take their meds. Please don't ignore this issue, it affects EVERYONE. Simply sign it and you'll be doing your part for a better society. Thank you!

The emails I receive from families struggling in silence are heavy and relentless. I am spending my evenings trying to get someone in the administration to acknowledge that these kids are slipping through the cracks. It is draining work but we have to keep pushing because the alternative is losing more of them.

Finally someone is talking about this. Been telling people for years that we need more specialized centers.

Mental health isnt a choice and these kids need real care before things get worse.

It shouldn't be this hard to find basic help for a child in crisis. Every school needs better resources.

My son went through this and it was a nightmare. The system is completely broken and families are left to deal with it all alone. We need help.
