How many homeless U.S. Military Veterans do you believe we have in our country? 5,000? 55,000? Would you believe the VA has documented 77,000 - and with our troops coming back from Iraq and Afganistan the number will increase. It is a national disgrace! We can not cheer at their parade and then abandon them. One veteran interviewed on TV said he believed if americans knew "how" they would help. Charity Partners Giving Foundation, a non-profit, is providing that opportunity by launching a nationwide campaign: "Project Home Sweet Home". It will focus public attention on the crisis and work to solve it. There is an urgent need. Every day - and night - veterans who sacrificed for our very freedom face loneliness, the cold and rain, questions of where they will spend the night and when they will eat again...personal demons. Act now. Sign up. Our goal is ten million grateful americans. Sign now and pledge: 1. To contribute $5.00 or more. Send your check or money order to Project: "Home Sweet Home", Box 4334, San Rafael, CA., 94903. To transfer funds send it to Bank of America acct. # 01824-03038, routing # 121000358, San Rafael, CA. 94903. 2. Invite three or more grateful americans to sign our petition. Ask each of them to invite three grateful americans to sign up - and each of them to invite three more. 3. Communicate with First Lady Michelle Obama. Urge her to form an emergency non-political advisory council to tackle the homeless veteran crisis. Members should include such distinguished citizens as the four living former U.S. Presidents; the president of the American Psychiatric Society; the president of the American Psychology Society; the CEO of Habitat for Humanity; Joe Robles, CEO of USAA Bank; Senator John McCain; Senator John Glenn; Senator Patty Murray, Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Commitee; Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook; Larry Page, CEO of google; Warren Buffet; Bill Gates; Reid Hoffman; Donald Trump and Eric Shinseki, Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The emergency advisory council's first proirity will be temporary housing and medical treatment - and then permanent housing. The cash contibutions will be used to help finance a national telethon from Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and other major cities during the week of the Fourth of July. Charity Partners Giving Foundation will post online an accounting of all expenditures of cash for "Project: Home Sweet Home" and will ask the VA to do the same. Your personal information will be protected. After you sign our petition, when you see the Red, White and Blue of our flag, or you are stirred by our National Anthem, or you are snug in your warm bed, enjoy this feeling: I am helping our homeless veterans!!
