Maintain and increase support for developmental disabilites services in the state of Kansas. Will be presented to the Kansas Legistlature on April 25, 2007 at a DD rally.

Marta Curry, United States6 years ago Comments: As a parent of a child with auditory processing, who was diagnosed in the parochial schools, I see the need for early diagnosis of young children so that both students and parents can be equipped to fight and ensure that ILPs are in place to facilitate optimum learning environments and strategies are secured for these children. As a financial advisor, I see how families are impacted financially when inadequate funding is there for critical needs. I support this petition wholly.

Beth Ward, United States7 years ago Comments: Due to underfunding, a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing was cut at Rainbows in December, 2006. The children had their services cut drastically due to this. It is not fair to the children of Kansas to be short-changed in this way, and the expense will be far greater as these children enter elementary schools below grade level.
