Name: Shannon Dier on Oct 21, 2006Comments: This is a great injustice. I am completely dissatisfied with the way the Children's Aid Society has handled this situation and hope that there is an investigation in to this and that Baby M. is returned to the foster family as it is there that he belongs. How dare CAS treat such a loving family that has contributed such a great deal to their organization by fostering many children, so poorly Especially to go as far as to threaten and even black list the family This is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Please help to return Baby M to the life that he deserves.Flag

Name: Melissa Peressotti on Oct 22, 2006Comments: I find it very unfortunate when a child is taken from his adoptive parents, who cared for him and provided a loving and supportive home, and given to another set of people solely because of a kinship tie. Please try to understand that kinship does not equal capability and responsibility to care for a child. It is not fair to the adoptive parents and especially to the child whose life, development, and health could be placed in jeopardy as a result of the decision to give to the kin.Flag

Name: Joey Basque on Oct 22, 2006Comments: Removing this baby from two caring adults who have, by the way, already raised two university educated boys, and especially after the baby has spent the first year of his life with these people, makes sense only to someone who has none. What's even worse is that the so called 'biological family,' the mother that is, had used hard drugs during the pregnancy. Does this make sense Doesn't this sound backwards to anyone Take a baby out of terrible conditions (sorry, no time to be polite to the people poisoning the baby while its still in the womb), give it to a good family, then take it away again and put it back into those conditions! I thought we were supposed to help our children, not hinder them! What is the reasoning Don't dare quote some principle of social welfare, don't go abstract on us. Stick to the facts. Unhealthy baby into the hands of loving parents prospers. Why take the baby out of their care now Why negate what's been accomplished For God's sake, think of the baby, in all its vulnerability, why do this, and why do this contrary to the love and feelings of the people who are the parents, the real parents, those who adopted him and cared for him. Shame shame shame. I have an overwhelming feeling that behind all of this is some poor fool who is unable to think for himself, who think's the law is rigid and can't adapt his thinking to it. He substitutes careful social and familial thinking with an idiotic 'word for word' law following consciousness. Think for yourself! Where is the baby better off With parents we know who are caring, or with the people who he unfortunately happens to share genes with. Whoever is the force against the better and informed wishes of this family and their friends, he must be blinded by pride in following some silly principle. And I say 'he' because no woman, at least to my thinking, could cause so much pain and strife for a little baby and the family that loves him. JBFlag
