There is a little sweet girl by the name of Maria, Maria is 5 years old and has many developmental disabilities. Her mother always has to fight for her daughter to have a normal life, Maria wanted to join the Girl Scouts. So Maria's mom signed her daughter up, Maria loved being with the girls, but from time to time Maria would act out from her disabilities. and then before you know it little girls scouts were coming up to Maria's mom saying things like this, " Maria is broken and can not be fixed" The leader of the troop doing nothing about this.By the next meeting they had asked Maria to leave the troop,Just because a child has disabilities thats no reason why she can not have the same chances that a child without has, Maria's mom has called the Girl Scouts of East Meadow and no one will return her call , so she can talk about this, This is disgusting and cannot continue. The school districts says this is not bullying but it is bullying, a child being told by a parent not to associate with another child because of autism or special needs!We ask that maria be re-instated as a girl scout, they find an appropriate troop for her, give the mother a letter of apology, We ask that you sign this petition to get maria into a troop, to alert girl scouts that this won't be tolerated, to have the parents at the very least spoken to if not have their daughters suspended from girl scouts for the rest of the year.
