Name: Sobhna on Jan 2, 2013Comments: My opinion is that the criminals should be tortured and hanged in public with their families standing beside to watch. This would deter future men to think many times before they do anything if at all. If they do then they are plain stupid and animals. This should happen ASAP. It's already too late.Flag

Name: Rupesh Bhindi on Jan 2, 2013Comments: Stringent laws for crimes against women must be implemented and any rapes or gang rapes leading to death or critical conditions should be given death penalty. In fact start with death penalties and the crimes will reduce at a greater rate. At the moment India is fearless and alien to legislation s being made. Hence drastic measures need to be made in order to control this particular crime as the current scenario suggest that this is spiralling out of control. I strongly advocate death penalties to be introduced for such atrocities.Flag

Comments: Whilst the middle-class may be growing in India, there is still no social justice for the masses. Wider education and job opportunities mean nothing when incidents like this occur. The only reason India hasn't plunged into a French/English-style civil war is because the protests rest on the principles of Gandhiji. This gives all the more reason to support the cause to pressure India into action on a number of fronts, including the treatment of women. It's a shame that someone has to lose their life in such horrid circumstances; that someone had to become an involuntary martyr, before any action will be taken.Flag -
