Comments: It seems to me that the idea of a general levy on travel to & from the Isle of Man is a very sensible and worthwhile suggestion, and I strongly request the IOM Government to give the idea its full support.

Comments: What ever it takes to wake these people up to the seriousness of the pending situation must be done. The people of this island are being sold down the river by their elected representatives and must be made aware of is before it is to late. For time immemorial the Manx people will look back at Mr Brown and Mr Teare and the uncaring MHK's and MLC's as the perpetrators of one of the greatest disservices of done to our island by any of the governments in living memory. This will be their Iraq War legacy if it is not sorted before it is to late. We do not trust you any more Mr Brown, Teare, Bell, Cretney etc etc you have let us all down.

Comments: I am signing this petition as a statement of my solidarity with the people who pay your wages, expenses and pensions et, and who expect you to respect and protect us from situations like this, I am sure it will probably not affect you in your capacity as an MHK or MLC there is most likely a system in place to protect you. But before you make any more rash decisions regarding the well being of those like me who have put you in this privileged position, remember in this case the memory of what you do next will be on the minds of the electorate and their children and grand children when we and they go to the poles election's to come and I can assure you it will be reflected in our and their decision when they come to vote. So if you want to keep your jobs, get this situation resolved as soon as possible for the peace of mind of us all.

Comments: Duty of Care requires that all efforts are made not to cause further harm but rather reduce it. For the vulnerable of society they are being forced into a potentially harmful situation. For those with pre-exisiting conditions, most of whom are tax payers and have the voice to vote, the expense of private travel insurance is not an option. Many will be denied coverage all together.

Comments: Of course teh government shoudl have made provision tso that this levy was not required. However now they've sat on tehir hands for so long this is the only alternative and must be rushed through Tynwald by CoMin. If they don't they have abandoned their duty of care to the elderly and infirm who would no longer be able to afford the insurance required to visit loved ones on the UK.

Comments: It's time for our "representatives" to support us. That's what they're there for - or have they conveniently forgotten that? There's an election coming, and any of them who don't help us will be thrown out. And that includes Mr. Brown, who thinks he's immune from criticism.

Comments: This seems a fair and reasonable way forward with those who use the service paying for it. It includes all ages and gives excellent cover. I say well done Liberal Vannin for bringing common sense back into IOM politics!

Comments: Eddie Teare should be ashamed of himself for not acting sooner. Its a good job the liberal Vannin party have our best interests at heart. My Mother is 87 with a serious heart condition and cannot buy travel insurance elsewhere, she would be afraid to travel to the UK to visit my brother and her granchildren if this master policy does not come to fruition. Liberal Vannin are truly the party for the people.

Comments: All the DHSS has offerred is a list of insurance brokers on the Island. The NHS is a non-profit organization unlike insurance companies aiming for profit at minimal risk. The detail and small print from the multitude of insurers simply confuses many people who just hope they may be covered. A National Standard for minimum cover for travellers would be necessary.

Comments: We both suffer from severe health issues. We will be marooned on Isle of Man for the rest of our lives. We fully support this initiative to actually do something constructive as our Government does not seem to care about people like us. We are both Manx born and feel that we don't seem to have any rights at all within England and Europe.
