| 20 | Cynthia Scott Pascual | Yes. Blue Cross/Anthem has has not paid my provider $91,000.00 of the amount they allowed for care they pre-authorized. Some claims were not paid at all and many were paid not even 10%. of the amount billed. Having paid almost $50K in premiums over three years, they left me responsible for a huge balance, while my provider basically would have been reimbursed more on many of my claims if I were Medi-Care/Medi-Cal. Why bother paying for insurance if they are not going to be there when you really need them? Do I have to loose my home just to get medical care and stay alive, even if I have tried to be a responsible patient and give them tens of thousands of dollars in premiums? Even worse, my plan allows for up to $500 a day, so how could I have guessed that they would not reimburse anywhere near that for their authorized services? They would not speak w/my provider by phone or respond to their
requests in writing. |
