Comments: Every year defects in the UK construction industry cost at least £22 billion to repair or rebuild. The World Economic Forum ranks Britain 76th out of 134 nations on efficiency of public sector/Housing associations spending behind such as: Greece, Ethiopia, Mozambique (please refer to Tim Montigomerie Home blog).Housing Associations and local authorities Construction section, repairs and maintenance, and planned maintenance deportments are the main cause of productivity decline. You will save a Drop in the Bucket by closing Lewisham A & E. Please go after main reason. I forwarded my report to Audit Commission regarding the main reason for productivity decline and they ignored it. Please do not close Lewisham A&E I am saying that as a productivity researcher. Your savings comes from Local authorities and Housing Association the main cause of productivity decline. Dr F.Dejahang from http://www.cpi-team.com and http://www.holyquranmiracles.com/

Comments: I am an ex nhs worker and patient in Bexley. The closure of Lewisham A/E is an irresponsible decision that will create many problems with the A/E service delivery in SE London. QMH already closed>

Comments: As a GP trained at Lewisham Hospital and still working within this well run and efficient health care provider I am frankly disgusted at the prospect of its proposed closure. This hospital acts as a healthcare provider for one of the most deprived areas in South London. Its closure would have catostrophic implications for the community it serves.

Comments: As a doctor who has worked in South East London over several years and also as a resident who has used A&E in the last six months in SE London I cannot understand any model which would reduce A&E capacity in the area without substantial lead in time to develop more skill and capacity in primary care urgent care. When I attended A&E before christmas I was one of 8 major cases brought by ambulance to a full department at St.Thomas's just after lunch on a tuesday afternoon. I was 8hrs in A&E because there were no beds in the hospital and I was critically unwell. I cannot see how any model would alleviate the pressures on A&E without several years of remodelling primary care practice to alleviate demand.

Comments: As a GP whose patients use KCH a lot, I fear for the stability of KCH A&E and maternity services, if people from Catford and Forest Hill etc have to make their way their instead. If you are going to provide a market- that's fine, but don't then close down services in the hospital that's not losing money. Where's the market logic there??!

Comments: After training in south london and specifically at Lewisham A&E I know the value of the service they provide. Redistributing patients is likely to alienate and disempower what is already a relatively deprived part of the capital.
