Name: Stephen Moult on Dec 3, 2012Comments: This is reliably the best place for modern music in the city and a haven of entertainment with a long and venerable history, which could even be opened up as a museum have so many influential Birmingham bands and other famous bands passing through played there. They absolutely deserve the support, not just of the local people, but from the council and city in the form of protection from regulations that have blighted Digbeth and similar places where apartment buildings with inferior soundproofing have been invited into flourishing artistic areas and their complaints (even when withdrew) have instigated the decline of major cultural meeting points in the city. Do you care about culture? Please, show us you do. People need this to be happy. Take away everything but leave us our culture, please. Represent us in this one way. Unless you really just want to have a commercial city with nothing original going on artistically. Best wishes Stephen Moult.Flag

Comments: i live above the hare and hounds, and only i am insane enough to cater my lifestyle to the ongoing gigs and events that take place there. anyone living that close to the building would not appreciate the sound levels that frankly dont bother me (we are very vigilant in keeping the sound levels that eminate from the building to a minimum). it seems a waste of time to build a flat only to put the amazing venue that the hare and hounds is under jeopardy.Flag -

Name: Lee Ambler on Dec 3, 2012Comments: This venue adds to the brilliant and diverse musical community of birmingham adding a lot of history and in my opinion a great local landmark with lots of history. To have something that will stop the Hare n Hounds holding musical events and gigs would be a great shame to a thriving community of people who learn and enjoy so much different music there.Flag

Name: Shaun Hand on Dec 3, 2012Comments: Birmingham has enough flats and not enough venues for A) local bands, DJs, promoters etc to showcase their talents (and grow their own 'businesses' as a result) and B) Touring acts whoi maybe aren't big enough to play venues such as the Academy or NIA. As a local musician I know full well how important the Hare & Hounds is to local music. If you want Birmingham to continue to have any kind of creative vibrancy then you'll reject the planning permission.Flag

Name: Ian Cuthbert on Dec 3, 2012Comments: The Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath is a Birmingham institution, a national treasure. It serves a huge community of people locally, regionally and nationally and punches way above its weight in the live music scene and makes a significant contribution o the local economy. The current application to develop residential property next door to the Hare & Hounds is a direct threat to it's operation and I oppose it entirely.Flag
