    Comments: I am a Hamilton Township resident for 16 years and I find it totally unacceptable to have such a small shelter for the number of residents that reside in this township. Animals are not disposable to be killed because of lack of space in a small shelter. Please help the animals.

    Comments: I volunteer with a rescue group who actively goes in and shows these animals at Pet Smart. Too often we see wonder animals euthanized for no reason except for lack of space. IN this day and age of excess, modern technology, advanced medicine and a huge housing boom, there is no reason why a new updated shelter that would properly fit the township's needs can't be built.

    Comments: As a rescue worker that has been affiliated with saving the lives of many animals at this shelter,it is imperative to update and enlarge this facility to continue to the good and progressive thinking image of this large township. The saddest stat is that Washington township animals when picked up come to this shelter as this RICH township does not have it's own facility. So it is easy for them to rob the lives of Hamilton animals with the space their animals take up contracted through this small Hamilton Shelter. The staff there tries to do the best they can but this archaic set up needs updating and expansion to meet up to modern time and standards. Hamilton also needs to launch a massive educational campaign towards its residents to stop the dumping of these innocent animals and to promote a mandatory county wide spay and neuter program. I am proud of this township I live in......we have made many strides in so many public arenas.....now let's do what is right for the other living beings that share our lives here....the animals.

    Comments: As a relatively "new" homeowner of the area, I was shocked to hear that with all the development in the Hamilton Twp area, that NOTHING has been done to improve the animal shelter in over 30 years--that being improvements, expansion or any additional staff added. When I heard a "skate board" park was built, I was disgusted to hear that such a STUPID thing was built. Hamilton Twp should "adopt" what Woodbridge homeowners have through their local animal shelters--free neutering and spaying to feral animals, plus the facilities staff and funding to do it. If Woodbridge can do it How come Hamilton cannot

    Comments: Though I'm not a Hamilton Township resident, I was looking at petfinder.com, the website that lists thousands of homeless animals available for adoption and saw a very nice little Pomeranian who's staying at the Hamilton Township Animal Shelter. I would hate to think that lack of room at the shelter could lead to a premature death for this little dog or anyone like him. I want to offer my encouragement and support to everyone who's interested in making the Animal Shelter a more accommodating and humane place for the many animals who need homes.

WE REALLY NEED TO ADD SOME SPACE SO THE DOGS AND CATS WILL HAVE MORE TIME TO BE PLACED. aLSO, PEOPLE DON'T GO TO THAT SHELTER MUCH BECAUSE ITS SO SMALL THEY FEEL IT ISN'T WORTH THEIR TIME. PLEASE EXPAND IT.

This will not only save lives, but will encourage more of our residents to visit the shelter as potential adopters. More space will allow more time, and the rates of animals being put to sleep could be greatly reduced.
