Raiders Wide Receiver Cliff Branch to the NFL Hall of Fame

Cliff Branch was one of the greatest players in Raider history. Cliff struck fear into secondarys throughout the league during an outstanding 14 year career. The Raiders\' speedster finished his career as the NFL\'s postseason leader in receptions and yardage. This included 3 touchdowns in Oaklands three Super Bowl Victories. Cliff was a solid player who worked to become a complete receiver and wasn\'t the sterotypical speedster who cannot make a key grab. RECORDS: NCAA Division 1-A record for kickoff returns for touchdowns (8, t-1st) Oakland Raiders record for longest reception (99 yards from Jim Plunkett, 1983), AWARDS: Four Pro Bowl appearances. This petittion will be sent to the Canton Ohio Pro Football Hall of Fame in early December

1 year ago Comments: If receiver Chris Carter (Vikings), with zero Super Bowl rings can get in, that tells you that the HoF is BULLZHIT!!! Cliff Branch, with three (3) Super Bowl rings, should have been a shoo-in, years ago. Also, how can you omit the best kicker (EVER), Ray Guy, and the man who is part of the #1 tandem of cornerbacks to ever play the game (Lester Hayes) along with Jack Tatum and quarterbacks, Lamonica, Flores, Stabler and Plunket..... Including those I omitted from the aforementioned list, there are at least ten or twenty Raiders who should have already been selected to the NFL Hall of Shame.
