In recent years many mainstream restaurants have started offering halal meat as their only choice. While we believe in the freedom of choice we also believe that many people who consume halal meat at these restaurants do not know how the animal is ritualistically killed. Halal slaughter is slow and painful as can be seen in the following video (feint of heart should not view this).

The trend to offer halal meat at KFC and McDonalds is a business decision so these restaurants can solicit more Muslim customers. They also believe that non-Muslims will not care and continue to visit these establishments. I for one do not wish to consume meat that in my opinion was inhumanely killed and seek to educate others so they too can make an informed decision about what they are eating. By signing this petition you are sending these restaurants a message that catering to a minority might result in loss of business from other customers.
