This petition is to the Australian Government.

Australian Supermarkets are no longer selling Prime Australian Beef slaughtered in our Traditional methods instead they are purchasing Haram and Halal meats and not informing Australians they are doing so.

The Supermarkets purchase Haram meats because it is much cheaper than Australian Prime.

This practice MUST STOP !

In the gospels of Acts 15;29 it is forbidden for a person to consume food from a ritually slaughtered animal sacrificed to another 'God'.

We in any country where the majority is NOT of the Muslim Faith should NOT be sold Halal or cast off Haram meat by stealth.

Australia is a multicultural country and has many Faiths that forbid Halal meat.

Allah is not the God of many Faiths for instance .....

Devout Christians, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism to name but a few of the many in our society today.

Why should we have to consume Halal and unlabelled cast off Halal "HARAM" meat ?

Other Peoples’ Faiths are just as equally important as the Islamic Faith is to them and as such should have the SAME RESPECT shown to others.

Muslims can eat any food and just bless it at the table to make it Halal just like people of other Faiths do when saying grace.

Article 9 Human Rights Act. regarding Freedom of Conscience.

This Act should give us the right to religious and secular freedom, i.e. to not be forced to participate in religious rites.

Dedicating this meat to a God violates this right: hence there is forced participation in another’s religion without consent.

Also Jews, Sikhs & Christians are specifically instructed not to eat this meat, so where is their religious freedom?

The best example of how things should be handled is the Jewish Community.

When they immigrated to Australia they didn’t walk in the door and demand that all the Beef in Australia had to be sold as “Kosher” instead they opened their own Specialty Butcher Shops.

AS SHOULD THOSE WHO ARE OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH.

The Jewish Community of Australia should be highly praised and regarded for respecting the Faiths’ of the others.

So when you go to a Supermarket and buy your meat it should be in a section noted as Halal and a section noted as Haram meats.

In many Supermarkets throughout Australia now if you wish to buy Asian foods there is a section or aisle specifically dedicated for these products.

Why should Halal or Haram meats be any different in the meat department of any Supermarket?

I call on the Australian Government to put a stop to this creation of this undemocratic Monopoly throughout the whole of the Australian Meat Industry and Retail Supermarket Chains.

If it requires an Act of Parliament to do so then so be it !!!
