Comments: The new Haine Road opened without the traffic calming scheme for the old Haine Road that was detailed in the original plans. Surveys show that the old road continues to carry in excess of 50% of traffic flows and these surveys also show average speeds to be well in excess of the new 30mph limit. The old Haine Road has become a dangerous rat run for drivers looking for a quick route to and from Westwood Cross and residents are suffering vehicle damage and abuse whenever drivers progress is impeded. There have already been accidents on the old road due to excessive spped and something needs to be done quickly to lessen and slow traffic flows on the old road before a more serious incident occurs.

Comments: WE FEEL THAT DRIVERS USING THIS ROAD SPEED TO EXCESS. THEY ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE USING ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, GESTURES AND OVERTAKING UNNECESSARILY. THIS ABUSE IS AGAINST BOTH DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS WHO HAVE TO WALK IN THE ROAD WHERE THERE ARE NO PATHWAYS. THE ROAD SHOULD BE CLOSED AS INITIALLY PROPOSED. RETRACTABLE BOLLARDS COULD BE PUT IN PLACE FOR THE AMBULANCES AND MOST PEOPLE USING THE FARM SHOP ARE REGULARS AND WOULD VISIT REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE ROAD IS CLOSED OR NOT.

Comments: Since the new haine road has been built it has not reduced the traffic flow, in fact it has increased the speed of motorists because there is now no lorries supposed to be driving down there. This again is a joke they still use it and coaches, buses. The main problem that i can see is why go around five rounderbouts when you can go around two and the distance is less. If you introduced full kerb to kerb road humps rather than what is in st johns road where you drive in between. This would either deter or slow traffic. The other problem is that there is a bottle neck at the toby and the west wood rounderbouts this also is restricting traffic flow which is causing congesstions because the other end of the haine road is virtually always clear that is traffic leaving thanet not entering. It is sometimes easier for me to come out of my house and turn right go down manston road towards tescos to get to ramsgate or to turn down spratling lane to flete road and come out at the cemetry to get to margate than it is to go to the toby rounderbout it maybe longer but the trafic is flowing continously. Making the route quicker and easier. Generally after 11 00 on a saturday it is impossible for myself or partner to drive to westwood as the trafic can be stacked up to haine farm or even down past my house. The alternative would be to close the haine road as was suggested originally and for the amublances to use the rear access rather than the front. As for john farmer saying that there are five bussiness to consider the toby deliveries should come in on the new haine road, the road contractors down coldwood lane can come in and out by turning right, the same for rosefarm if they have deliveries as for the tractors they could use the same way that every one else and use the new haine road. Failing that in london they use electric bollards that drop down when activated ideally each house holder could purchase a remote sensor that would retract them and shoot back up once the car or van has pasted this would also allow amublances to have free access they are mounted at the front of each one this would please every one these could be placed at rose farm either before or just after. The other thing is that kcc put drpped kerbs for people with prams or wheel chairs to get across that was the biggest waste of labour and materials how many people would risk their lives crossing at these points even if the could manouver sufficiently to cross. I have lived on this road since 1995 I have been sworn at threatened had things thrown at me had rubbish thrown out of windows while they are driving. People dicard litter ie mc donalds wrappers and such like quite regularly, finished soft drink cans, bottles. finshed with left to litter the road. the milk man no longer comes down nor do we get free papers because no one is prepared to walk along the road even the postman dreads it and he has to he drives a van the takes his life in his hands delivering.

Comments: I think all the residents have been lied to enough over whether the road is to be closed or not. Why should we have to put up with passing motorist throwing eggs, spitting and hurling verbal abuse at us and also honking their horns at all of us HOW CHILDISH.. The road could quite easily be closed to non residential traffic by the use of BOLLARDS at one end of Haine road (preferably spratling street end) The emergency services can adapt to these as in other areas it would be less expensive BUT more reassuring to the residents.

Comments: I think that the council should close this road OFF as they promised us. It will make it safer for all of us children as well as adults. My Dad tells me that it is wrong to tell lies, So why are the council telling them
