Em nosso planeta, encontramos 9 países lusófonos (países em que o idioma oficial é o português). Dentre os representantes desta vasta comunidade, temos mais de 240 milhões de falantes em todo o mundo e a terceira mais falada nos continentes africano e europeu. Além da população residente em cada um dos oito países que têm a língua portuguesa como idioma oficial - Angola (12,5 milhões de habitantes), Brasil (191,9 milhões), Cabo Verde (427 mil), Guiné-Bissau (1,5 milhões), Moçambique (21,2 milhões), Portugal (10,6 milhões), São Tomé e Príncipe (206 mil) e Timor-Leste (1,1 milhões) - mais de 5 milhões de pessoas constituem as comunidades portuguesas espalhadas pelo mundo.

Desde 13 de julho de 2007, na Guiné Equatorial, vem sendo também falado nos antigos territórios da Índia Portuguesa (Goa, Damão, Ilha de Angediva, Simbor, Gogolá, Diu e Dadrá e Nagar-Aveli) e em pequenas comunidades que faziam parte do Império Português na Ásia como Malaca, na Malásia e na África Oriental como Zanzibar, na Tanzânia.

Na listagem das línguas com maior número de falantes, o português surge entre o quinto e o sétimo lugar, conforme as tabelas consideradas, mas na Internet a sua importância é mais facilmente avaliada, sendo considerado o sétimo idioma mais divulgado. Entra esta comunidades, destacamos o Brasil e Portugal como as maiores comunidades de gamers lusófonos, em que Portugal é membro da União Europeia e o Brasil, além de ser o maior país da América Latina, é o 5º maior do mundo está entre os mais populosos.

Outro dado importante que ressalto é o Novo Acordo Ortográfica da Língua Portuguesa, tratado este que unifica o idioma em todos os países lusófonos, acabando com as diferenças ortográficas entre os países. Portanto, venho através desta Petição Online, solicitar, encarecidamente, que a ArenaNet reveja sua produção do jogo Guild Wars 2 e inclua o idioma português já em seu lançamento. Reveja a importância de o idioma português ser adicionado no GW2 e o quanto isso vai atrair novos jogadores, empolgados com a possibilidade de apreciar um jogo empolgante, de extrema credibilidade, e melhor: em sua língua vernácula.
