Dear Elected Officials, NRA, Military Industrial Complex, Hollywood & Video Game Industry, A few requests upon reflection of the gun violence in the media and not in the media. Before stating these requests we must first acknowledge that: 1. Blaming others and taking no responsibility solves no problem 2. Right or wrong many Americans consider one or all of the above to be at fault for contributing to or promoting violence 3. If every entity that is believed to contribute to violence takes some responsibility and takes actions to prevent future violence those entities may earn some respect from the public, improve their image, and positively contribute to society 4. Responsibility for and act of violence ultimately falls on each individual acting violently, and it is important to understand, to the best of our ability, what leads individuals to act violently in order to prevent it The undersigned would like to see: 1. Each entity perceived to contribute to or promote acts of violence, jointly fund objective research into what causes violence and how to prevent it (It seems that we already know a great deal about this, we need to know that this information is objective) 2. Education regarding what that research says, in ways that are easy to understand, comprehensive, and complete 3. After research is completed, each entity perceived to contribute to or promote acts of violence should help fund research based methods to prevent violence
