    Comments: This poses no threat or harm, to local areas and if anything will bring in more money to local businesses such as the local fast food outlets and fuel stations. In such in a time of economic downturn, a static meet is a safe and relatively cheap night out, as opposed to the groups who fill our town centres, get drunk and abusive, injure themselves and others and cost a fortune to patrol and police. These events have gotten bad press over the years, no one is denying this, however the car community is working to distance itself from idiots, and to ensure only those with a genuine enthusiasm for the hobby are permitted. In all honesty we spend a fortune to modify our cars, and to keep them perfect, and we don't want our prides and joy damaged by idiots. To allow one car parks use, as is done by councils in Brighton and other areas, would allow such events to take place, safely and legally, and for police to keep a watchful eye to evict and prosecute anyone acting illegally and for ourselves to enjoy our hobby. This way both parties win, and the local community benefits from increased trade.
