Georgia Tech needs more sustainable food options!
Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food. ~ Hippocrates
The food that we eat affects nearly every aspect of life on Earth. Our health, happiness, safety, economy, and environment all depend upon our daily eating habits. I believe that Georgia Institute of Technology should evaluate many of its common practices related to the procurement, preparation, sale, and disposal of food. When considering any aspect of on-campus dining, sustainability must be given a top priority. Georgia Tech should start by providing more local, organic, vegetarian, and vegan options and establishing a more responsible waste management system in its dining locations. In these and other ways, we will promote wellness, support local agriculture, protect our planet, and reaffirm our place as a leader in innovative, sustainable technology.
