Final supporters
On November 10, 2011, the Grossmont Unified School District Board, with a vote 4 YES (Hoy, Kelly, Shield, Woods) to 1 NO (Schrieber), approved a new High School District Boundary. The new boundary effective 2012-13 school year affects thousands of residents, students and properties. http://www.guhsd.net/index.php/attendance-boundaries
The Grossmont Unified School District failed to adequately notify the affected residents. We pay property taxes for our schools and this change may affect our children's future and our property values. The District should have sent a mailer/flyer out to all property owners within the GUHSD boundaries.
Due process did not occur.
This petition is a request that:
1. Grossmont Unified School District Board, rescind their November 10, 2011 Boundary board action.
2. Mail a flyer with boundary change information to all affected area property owners and set a new date for a future Board vote on the boundary change with allowance for community input.

I have been staring at these district maps all morning and honestly the lack of transparency is just infuriating. People keep messaging me with stories about property values and their kids getting moved around without a single heads up which totally confirms that this decision was made in total shadow. We are prepping a stack of formal requests for the board because they clearly think we are just going to sit back and accept this.

My property value is definitely gonna take a hit because of this. Totally unfair to the homeowners here.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY MAIL. DO IT RIGHT.
How did they expect us to know about this? My kids go to these schools and we never heard a word from the district. Ridiculous.
