We need a Grocery Store at Lake and Lambert!

The 2 parcels land at the corner of Lake Street and Lambert Lane in Elgin Illinois has been for sale for many years and it is about time to get it sold! One parcel is the land for sale just north of Lake Street and the other parcel is the land just south of Lake Street next to the Estes Company. As members of the community we can bring attention to this matter by signing this petition and encourage a devloper to purchase the land and build a Grocery Store there. A new grocery store (and other retail shopping or fuel station) can bring improved home values, a closer community feel and convenience for neighbors who live in the immediate vicinity. Communities directly north and south of Lake Street may walk and ride bicycles and for many neighborhoods it would be a short ride. At this time the parcels may be zoned for area businesses – a grocery store would be a very welcome and attractive addition to our community. The writer of this petition has many other “dreams” for this area – but to start with a grocery store would be ideal! I hope you sign this petition and write letters to your favorite grocery store to give the needed attention to this area that once developed can be a wonderful place to shop!
