Name: Pierre LEBRUN on Jun 27, 2010Comments: Following our recommendations, our B&B visitors regularly go and visit Groam House Museum . They never come back disappointed and they always comment favourably on the amount and quality of information they have seen there. Most actually discover a civilisation they barely knew existed. It would be a great loss to the local tourism economy and to the cultural heritage of the area if Groam House were to find itself unable to carry on with its outstanding work and exhibitions. Groam House is truly unique in its coverage of a little known page of Scottish history and it would be akin to vandalism if Highland Council were to be seen as contributing to erase years of praiseworthy work by a dedicated team of local knowledgeable volunteers. Hugh Miller's Cottage in Cromarty is already operating on much reduced opening times. Surely, if Groam House were to adopt the same policy, the attraction of the Black Isle to tourists would be severely diminished. Tourism is the breadwinner for many families in Highland Region. Surely Highland Council do not want to be seen as contributing to job losses in an area with very few employment alternatives.Flag

Name: Lachlan Mckeggie on Jul 7, 2010Comments: Grome house musiam is a Fantastic local and national resource. It house and display some of Scotland’s most important sculpture attracting visitors to the area. Its community programs and lecture series are of high local interest and the publications that accompany them testiphy to there quality and were an important resource in my degree. Cutting funding to this museum would be a short sighted and unhelpful step that would loos both money and a cultural resource.Flag

Name: Christina Heynes on Aug 5, 2010Comments: On behalf of Moray Mental Health this tiny but excellent museum has brought us back again & again - usually combined with a visit to Chanonry Point - since Groam House is unable to accommodate all our party at once. Please, do not close Groam House down - it is small & unique - for this very reason, much loved by visitors.Flag

Name: Rosalind Scott on Aug 5, 2010Comments: It is very important to keep all these Museum's open. It is how life used to be lived with all the mod cons of long ago and the not so long ago. We were all contented with what little we had.Flag

Name: T Proudfoot on Aug 13, 2010Comments: i request that there are no cuts to museum funding and that other savings are looked at first: energy expenditure and savings ( Carbon Management Plans), expenses of councillors and officials, overseas trips and aid to businesses are a few examples.Flag

Name: Di De Villiers on Aug 27, 2010Comments: Sounds a wonderful museum and we plan to visit it in June 2011, when we will be visiting Scotland - from South Africa. It seems to be the only one that is devoted to Pictish stone carvings and it would be a very great shame to lose this. I definitely plan to do SEVERAL rubbings - what a treat - cant WAIT !!!!!!!Flag
