   Comments: Some of the existing parking area should be reclaimed for the park and introduction of more greenery, possibly a picnic area, tennis courts, extended walking paths and outdoor gym stations, cafés and/or restaurants and weekly or semiweekly fruit/vegetable/farmers' market would be welcomed. (As far as parking concerns for Mahalia Jackson Theatre, there is ample alternative parking available in the vicinity, on N. Rampart and Basin Streets and in the French Quarter.) The Basin Street corner of the park would be perfect for a children's playground with the existing trees providing shade and the fence providing security.

    Comments: I have loved Louis Armstrong since 1991 and for many years I have been outraged by the neglect of the park and by the cynical attempts by certain leaders and members of the community to use it for their own agendas. Clearly the parking lots are part of the problem. Let's dedicate the overflow parking lot to children and let's make access to the park on the St. Philip St. side more than a hidden little door that is locked most of the time. Our children need play equipment, access to green spaces, and, my biggest dream for the park, a nice cooling splash park too! Let's make it happen!

    Comments: I desperately want Armstrong Park and the surrounding areas to be inviting, pleasant and vibrant places for me to socialize with my friends and neighbors. Currently, the foreboding fence, the sea of asphalt, the lack of benches and seating, and free green space for activity precludes it from being a destination. Please do not sacrifice this potential for the sake of a few dozen more automobiles. There is plant of parking in the area, and more people walking around will have benefits for public safety.
