PETITION TO PM HARPER

The petition

We, the undersigned, residents and citizens of Canada are disappointed and betrayed by your Governments decision to extend recognition to FYROM under the name Republic of Macedonia� in Canada's bilateral agreement with FYROM. This decision is ill-conceived and contrary to the United Nations resolutions which Canada has pledged to follow. The European Community and other international institutions have not extended such recognition to FYROM. Prime Minister your decision is a disgrace and an insult to Canadians of Hellenic descent. Your decision does not do justice to the demands of the Hellenic nation and contributes to unlawful cultural expropriation of Hellenic History and Civilization by FYROM; a government whose leaders have repeatedly stated that they are of Slavic heritage and have no relation or link to Macedonia or Alexander the Great. Accordingly, we demand that you, prime minister, rescind this un-Canadian and insulting decision.
