In view of the terrible and recurring pain, death, destruction of natural resources and ancient monumnents that arsonists inflict upon beautiful Greece every year and especially this year 2007, we ask from the Greek Government to act in a decisively preventive way, so arsonists should take notice and assume responsibility equal to the the severity of the crime of public arson. We hereby petition the Greek Government to pass laws that will make public arson a capital offense. Greece is the most democratic and tolerant among nations, but as our tolerance is reaching an end after we see such documented criminal behaviour go unpunished year in year out, we have to start exercising our democratic rights for a good and life saving cause: Rid the country of arsonists and send a strong and preventive message to future arsonists.
