| 1 | graham bacon | i know this is happening to a small club like grays . but just think thiscould be your club next |
| 2 | Gordon Cook | This change should have been made ages ago when it was first realised that such a loophole existed, but as usual the FA has done nothing since.
If it had been addressed at that time, then the curent problems that Grays Athletic are experiencing would not have happened.
This must be altered to comply with other work contracts, and to save other clubs having the same difficulties........otherwise it pays players to lie !! |

| 6 | Kevin Lamb | This should have been placed in the contracts from the beginning, most other companies have this already in place, why not The FA |
| 7 | paul wilding | I think it is totally out of order what they are asking the club to do.. |
| 8 | Craig Gibson | Crime Pays ? Grays Athletic / Mick Woodward should make a stand for all law abiding people. |

| 15 | David Smith | In a profession where the players are recognised as role models for young people, clubs must have the right to be able to take action to ensure that footballers keep to legal standards of behaviour. Clubs need to be assured that any information passed to them by an employee is accurate. This would assist in them doing that. |

| 17 | hedley dye | the £14k should be donated to the family of the victim of the crime |
| 18 | Anonymous | I find it hard to believe in this day and age that something like this has not been in place before, a club has no way of knowing of these things until its too late, and the player would not inform the club of this knowing he would not be offered any contract, should that kind of thing become public knowledge. |

| 22 | Tony Walpole | Long time grays supporter and season ticket holder. I strongly agree with with MR Woodward. Ashley didn't play 1 minute of competitive football for Grays Ath and after hes actions with hes conspiracy to rob and a murder on the sceen , then i think that it should be within MR Woodwards rights to terminate the contract.(CRIME DOESN'T PAY) If any compentsation at all should go ahead, then i strongly suggest that it should go to the victims children, so that they can build for a future. For most of us, Grays Athletic is a place we love best and my heart goes out to MR Woodward (our chairman) and hes family for this nonsence,
Tony Walpole Com'on you blues |
| 23 | Anonymous | One point though - when asked before signing for Grays, the player said he was in trouble for 'motoring offences'.
The Grays chairman stated that no contract would have been offered, if the nature of the true offence was known at the time.
By giving a false declaration, the player deliberately deceived the Grays club in order to get a contract. |
| 24 | Rob | The club should argue that the contract was obtained by deception - and therefore null and void. |
| 25 | Hazel Woodward | Please FA do the sensible thing. He breached his contract by lying to get it. Someone died through his actions. He did it and was always guilty. How dare he even consider asking for this money.
Hazel Woodward |
| 26 | Stephen Travis | Ludicrous situation, wholeheartedly back this straightforward solution. |

| 29 | Dave Bishop | This decision is a disgrace. Why should Grays pay this money to a convicted thug who lied to get his contract there in the 1st place?
The FA's stupidity in this matter has no bounds. |

| 33 | Dean Johns | The treatment of Grays is totally out of order. The FA would never do this to a Chelsea or Man Utd due to their power in Football. Total disrespect for a club who have helped players gain international caps. Shameful. |

| 43 | Nic Read | Mick Woodward and Grays are totally correct in not paying this contract. FA please show some commonsense?!! |
| 44 | Alan Rickards | It's time that the FA brought decency and morals back into the running of the great game of Football. |

| 48 | Jim Moyes | Convicted criminals should not benefit from any payments. Not disclosing circumstance when obtaining employment should not be rewarded. Payment to those harmed makes much more sense. |
| 49 | Nigel Thomas | Absolutely disgraceful decission again to reward a criminal.
Its about time we took a stand for right against wrong and stopped these criminals getting all the privilages that the victims dont get.
I for one would love to see this changed in favour of the clubs. |
| 50 | Anonymous | I think the FA's ruling regarding Grays Athletic is disgusting and the people who made the ruling should be ashamed of themselves and made to resign. |
