The town finally gave us the green light to bring back the parade. It feels incredible to know that we are actually going to see our streets full of music again. Thank you for sticking with me while I pushed to make this happen.
One Year of the Mardi Gras the Durham Regional Police was not prepared for the amount of people that were attending that mardi gras that year.....things got way out of hand which anything does when not properly survailenced so its there own fault but i have a way to bring it back if i have to prepare the whole thing myself!!!
I have been busy putting together a formal proposal that outlines exactly how we can manage the crowd control and safety issues for a new Mardi Gras. The police failed us by shutting it down instead of preparing properly so I am determined to show them a better way forward.

Seeing this much energy behind the idea of returning our event to the streets is overwhelming. I grew up with these festivities and knowing that people still miss them gives me the push I need to keep fighting for a solution.
