133 susanfordGBmy husband is disabled with ms, i have a 12 year old daughter, i have a residence order for my 2.5 year old granddaughter as instructed by social services to obtain for her safety! to date we have spent £3500 securing this and its not over yet, we receive no assistance at all unlike her mother who was still receiving child benefit whilst my claim was processed! but what price do you put on a childs safety and wellbeing? you dont, you just get on with it and do what you have to do for loves sake! we need to be recognised for who we are and what we do and why! our grandchildren would not be with us if this was a perfect world, but its not!

142 YvonneJonesGBI feel that grandparents who are looking after their grandchildren full time are given a raw deal. They are not supported financially and very often have to go into debt to look after these children. e.g. The CSA and benefits agency will not make a claim against these parents so the children are short changed yet again.
