| 2 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | UK | we have a residance order for our grandson we were told by social services ,if we didnt go for one, our grandson would be fostered and addopted with his half brothers. my husband and I have had no support or help financialy or otherwise from social services.they tell us it was a private order and are not now involved.
we keep being took back to court by mum it is costing us an absulute fortune to protect him. mum gets legal aid we have to pay as we own our house and both work.It is such a struggle sometimes to work and look after a seven year old. whos mum has abused him and a dad who has died |

| 6 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | UK | As well as Residence Order Allowances there should be guaranteed allowances payable for the duration of the new Special Guardianship and none of these allowances should be means tested as some people have saved to supplement the basic state pension and had not anticipated the bringing up of grandchildren. These grandchildren will probably suffer financially against their peers if sufficient allowances are not paid. These children will have suffered enough and grandparents who have given up life in retirement to look after their grandchildren deserve to be treated better to enable them to bring up the much loved grandchildren without having to worry about money. |

| 37 | gina | houghton | | UK | How can this not be a right in a so called civalised society.grandparents make grandchidren feel loved ,secure and help them to grow up as useful members of society, unlike kids in care whos academic and social skills are much poorer than thier countrparts. THE GOVERMENT MUST LISTEN. |

| 41 | Rosina | Ottery | | GB | I have brought up my grandchild (and at times his brothers and sisters) for 12 years. I have been out of pocket and worn down by the workload of a traumatised children. There has been no help, no adivce, no community. I now face pensionable age without the expected financial means and feel bleak and angry. I love the kids but feel grandparents are a forgotten convenience. |
| 42 | CHRISTINE | HURST | | GB | I think you are doing a great job, to mind my grandchildren while my daughter works, I had to register as a childminder, so that she can afford to pay me. That isn't how it should be. Keep up the good work! |

| 46 | Shirleyann | Metcalfe | | GB | It is so unfair that Grand parents, carers who take on family members, are not helped financially. We as carers have not asked for more children, so why should we struggle financially, this creates more problems with in the family unit. The so called parents pay nothing towards their keep, they refuse all responsibility. We save the gouverment money, keeping these children out of foster care, it is discriminating us, not to pay us, as we do the same job as none relatives. |
| 47 | PATRICIA | MARRIOTT | | GB | please help people like us both finanically and with chid care and to stop social services treating us like second class citizens. |
