Comments: Being an attorney and the president of "The Nordic Committee for Human Rights - NCHR - For the Protection of Family Rights in the Nordic countries", I have vast experience of the so-called child protection services in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The social services in the Nordic welfare states discriminate against grandparents who are fully capable, ready, willing and able to care for their grandchildren who for some reason have come into their focus. This is of course to the benefit of strangers and the social services, but to the damage and detriment of the children and their relatives. Isn't it strange that, in the year of our Lord 2004, we have to petition the government to ensure that the basic Human Rights to private and family life of children and their extended families (Article 12 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Articles 8 & 16 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child) be recognised and respected by the authorities created by the government and the legislature The NCHR supports you in this petition. Comments: My 21 year old is having a baby out of wed lock and is giving it up to adoption. I have told her I would help her and if she wanted I would raise it. She is not on drugs or into anything that would put the baby in harm. Her sisters and brothers all are offering their support to keeping the baby. Is there any thing I can do to keep her from giving my grandchild away.

Comments: I elect to have the laws changed for grandparents to be considered when there is no hope, grandparents can offer more stability in a childs life. But I believe certain guide line should be in place first.

Comments: I would like this given much consideration and certainly should be ' passed. Grandparents should have rights to help children who can not help themselves. Many children could benefit from having relationships with grandparents when the parents cannot or will not take care of the child.

Comments: THE CHILD PROTECTION INVESTIGATIONS DEPARTMENT OF THE THE PINELLAS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE HAS REPEATEDLY FABRICATED STATEMENTS, CHANGED WITNESS STATEMENTS,AND HAVE USED THEIR POWER TO PERSUADE THE STATE PAID DOCTORS AND STATE PAID CHILD PSYCHOLOGISTS TO PRESENT FALSE INFORMATION AND TO "BRAIN WASH" OUR GRANDSON IN ORDER TO MAKE ME, THE MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER AND MY MOTHER, THE MATERNAL GREAT GRANDMOTHER APPEAR TO BE "SMUCKS". WE HELPED MY DAUGHTER RAISE OUR GRANDSON FOR THE 1ST 5 YEARS OF HIS LIFE WHILE HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER ABANDONED HIM AND HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER DIDN'T EVEN AS MUCH AS SEND HIM A CHRISTMAS CARD OR BIRTHDAY CARD, BUT NOW THE COURTS SAY OUR GRANDSON IS BETTER OFF WITH HIS DAD THAN BEING WITH US. BY THE WAY, OUR GRANDSON'S DAD HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THE PAST AND THE COURTS STILL AWARDED HIM CUSTODY, EVEN THOUGH CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT TRIED TO LOCATE HIM FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND HE WAS IN ARREARS FOR CHILD SUPPORT FOR THE AMOUNT OF ALMOST $3,000. WHAT IS EVEN WORSE IS THAT SHERIFF EVERETT RICE HAS REPEATEDLY COME UP WITH LAME EXCUSES TO PROTECT HIS "PRECIOUS" CPI DEPARTMENT AND HIS CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN DETECTIVE, MRS. MISTY MANNING, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE VIOLATED SEVERAL FLORIDA STATE STATUTES. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY ATTORNEYS WHICH WILL HELP ME FIGHT THE SHERIFFS OFFICE OF PINELLAS COUNTY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I FAILED TO ALSO MENTION THAT THE CPI DEPARTMENT VIOLATED A COURT ORDER WHICH ALLOWED THEM TO ONLY GET A COPY OF MY MENTAL HEALTH RECORD/REPORT. WHAT THEY DID WAS TO COPY MY ENTIRE MEDICAL FILE AND DISTRIBUTE IT TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT ATTORNEYS INVOLVED IN THE CASE AGAINST MY DAUGHTER. AGAIN, SHERIFF RICE JUST SWEPT IT UNDER A RUG AND TRIED TO SAY THAT THE COURT ORDER WAS NOT SPECIFIC ENOUGH. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE SPECIFIC YOU CAN GET WHEN THE COURT ORDER STATES "MENTAL HEALTH RECORD/REPORT. PLEASE HELP OUT FAMILY AND OTHERS LIKE US -- SOMEONE HAS GOT TO PUT A STOP TO THESE PEOPLE DESTROYING ENTIRE FAMILIES AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - DESTROYING OUR CHILDREN. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE PROOF OF ALL THESE ACCUSATIONS THAT I HAVE MADE BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYONE WILLING TO FIGHT FOR OUR FAMILIES OR OUR CHILDREN. I COULDN'T EVEN GET OUR STATE REP, LESLIE WATERS TO DO ANYTHING. THANK YOU

Comments: My daughter is divorced from my grandson's father . He has custody which I helped him get because it was the best thing for my grandson. I have been totally supported to my son-in-law. In fact I even introduce him to his wife now. The problem is he is making it harder and harder for me to talk to him and seeing him every other weekend. I want this to be a law in Fla. Where we as grandparents do not have to suffer for our childrens mistakes. I was there when he took his first breath. He loves to come see me. What can I do now to get this law back again

Comments: My grandsons mother and new husband have just decided that I am not going to be allowed visitation with my grandson anymore, based on my son's going to jail and the new husband's mother's involvement. I have always been very involved in my grandsons life, and this is heartbreaking, I seem to have no rights, and cannot really afford an attorney to try and fight this, my daughter-in-law will not even talk to me, she had her new mother-in-law tell me. We have had no problems before and had a good relationship, this just came out of left field after they had a baby of their own. Lord help us to have some relief from this hurtful/ugly court decision.
