Comments: I am the grandparent of my youngest son's three children, 2 girls age 11 and 12.5, and boy age 13.5. My son was a single custodial father since his wife left him and the children. The children were well taken care of, loved, nurtured, and they attended religious activities as well. The children loved their father very much and it showed as they always had to be with Dad. They missed their Mother and were deeply hurt when she left. My son continually reassured them that their Mother loves them very much, one day she would come see them, and told the children to not blame themselves for her leaving. This helped them to understand the situation. The three children were all still in diapers and my son raised them by himself for the next three years. CPS terminated his rights to his children because they claimed he could not provide for them because he did not work. He in fact has a disability and is on Disability through the government for this. CPS claimed he was too POOR to take care of them and for this they TERMINATED his parental rights. Since then, I as the Grandmother have had NO contact with these children who are now trapped in the care of the State. The family has been permanently destroyed and the children further mentally damaged by CPS/DSHS system. Early in this situation CPS demanded that my son move into a Low Income Housing Apartment Complex that was under dismay and unsuitable for living. They said they would take the children from him if he did not do as they demanded. So the family moved into the housing complex. Three months later my son had to go on a two day trip out of state. The Father had to find care for the children for two days while he went out of town on a trip. He asked CPS for recomendation and they demanded he leave them with a couple who lived in the Low Housing where they lived. So he did and went on the trip. Upon returning and picking up his children, the neigbors tell him that children had been molested by the couple. My Grandchildren were raped and abused because CPS used them as Bait so they could get this child molestor. The Molestor had previously done 7 years prison for rape of a child in Meridian County California before moving to Port Hadlock, WA. Jefferson County Sherriff Department had told CPS of the Child Raper's new address in Port Hadlock Low Income Apartments. 5 months after Raper moved in, CPS was investigating the molestation and rape of the CHild molestor's wife's brother's 9 year old little girl. Four months after this, CPS requires my son to move his family into the low income housing complex, ( where the Child Rapist lived) or lose his children. Knowing what this Child Raper, Charles "Howard" Robinson, had done previously to a child, this should not have happened. My son then filed a Lawsuit against the State of Washington and CPS/DSHS. He then continually was harrassed by CPS until they falsely terminated his parental rights. This was done because of the Lawsuit against them and they did not want the public to see what they had done. Being that he no longer has parental rights, any Lawsuit against CPS is nullified and defunct. Because of this, I no longer am able to be a grandmother, or get to teach my granddaughters how to bake, to knit, to be a morally good girl and woman. My grandson was a very thoughtful boy. He would ask me if there were anything he could do to help me. He and I planted some flowers together in front of my house. I loved seeing the expression on his face and the amazement of how well HIS flowers were doing compared to the ones his sisters had planted. He was proud, but would tell his sisters not to worry, "He" would show them how to plant flowers so they would grow better. I am 78 years old now, my youngest son is 42 years of age. I miss those children so much. I have watched their father, my son, completely emotionally tear apart over this situation. We are so deeply hurt for what the state has put these children through, so please, please, do something for families. In particular, for Grandmother Rights and pass legislation to end these Evil ways of the CPS department and help save this Country by helping it's families.

Comments: I haven't seen my grandchildren in almost a year because my daughter doesn't like my boyfriend. She has kept the kids from their entire family. This law must be changed for the benifit for the kids. They deserve to know who their family is.

Comments: I think we should have more rights if we have been involved with our grand children. Parents that use kids as pons not right.

Comments: Everyone needs rights of one type or another to lead a more satisfactory family life. Every caring grandparent should be allowed to have healthy relationships with their grandchildren. Grandchildren should receive as much caring and love they are fortunate enough to have access to during their lifetimes. Anyone who stops a grandchild from receiving the wonderful love and caring of a grandparent is nothing less than selfish and cruel. I totally support grandparents having the right to give caring and love to their grandchildren.

Comments: I have helped out my grandchildren's Mom on numerous circumstances by giving her money, furniture, food, and of course clothing for my grand-babies! I have no problem doing that because I want my grandchildren to have at least the necessary needs to survive. I love my grandchildren and have no problem helping. Now a misunderstanding has arisen and I have been deny-ed seeing the grandchildren. I think grandparents should have visitation rights!
