Grand Valley students who study at Ashtabula County Technical and Career Center, along with their parents, friends, and neighbors, would like to reform the treatment that they recieve from the Grand Valley staff and administration that started this year. This includes adjusting the dismissal time from the cafeteria to catch the elemetary bus home that has been appointed for A-Tech students. The new proposed time is 3:30 p.m. instead of the current time ten minutes earlier. As the buses don't leave until 3:35 p.m. this is a more reasonable dismissal as the fifteen minute gap has created a problem of students having to wait for their bus to arrive in all weathers. Also, if it is announced that a student/students bus will be late, we propose that the student be allowed to stay inside the cafeteria until it arrives, which is currently not being done. Students also are currently being held in the elementary school cafeteria, and must seek permission from the watching teacher to go into the high school portion of the school to use the bathroom. We would like to allow the students the option to wait in the high school cafeteria, allowing them to visit and converse with their peers who remain at Grand Valley. Another change this year was food and beverage being prohibited on the trasnsport bus to A-Tech, with the reason being students who can not eat at home have time to eat at Grand Valley. A misconception as many students arrive and only have a few minutes, if that, until the bus leaves. Some students arrive and not a minute later the bus leaves, which undoubtfully means that they do not have the opportunity to grab breakfast in the cafeteria. If you are a Grand Valley and/or A-Tech student, parent, neighbor or concerned citizen of Ashtabula County, Ohio who would like to see the above changes be made than please sign this petition to ensure Grand Valley/A-Tech students recieve the fair treatment they previously had.
