When in the course of human events any government becomes sufficiently un-conducive to any significant portion of the populace it is made to serve, it is the right of the people to sever themselves from such a government and establish a new one. Thus: WHEREAS the undergrads are given 75% of the vote on the Student Government Association, WHEREAS 50% of UST consists of graduate students, WHEREAS the overwhelming majority of graduate students only attend GSA events, WHEREAS over $20,000 of the graduate student activity for the past two years has gone to non-GSA events and thus primarily to undergrads, WHEREAS grad students should be in charge of their own activity fee, WHEREAS graduate students should have their own meetings separate from the undergrads due to radically different lifestyles, interests, and maturity levels, We hereby show our support for the creation of a new Graduate Student Senate, financially separate from the current predominantly undergraduate Student Government Association.
